Do you ever have those moments when something happens in your life that’s so perfect it feels like it was literally made-to-measure? Like someone, somewhere designed it to fit you and your life like a glove? I love those moments. I live for those moments. And, you know what, the more I live for them the more frequently they seem to happen.
They don’t happen because I have some secret spell that delivers me exactly what I want immediately upon request. (Sometimes part of me that wishes I did, but then, I wonder, would I be so excited by the made-to-measure moments if they were completely effortless on my part?) I can also never predict exactly when these moments will happen and believe that’s part of the magic, too.
Instant gratification sounds incredible, but it also can be limiting. If we always got exactly what we wanted right away we wouldn’t leave room for anything greater, more exciting, better fitting, to come through. The mystery of exactly what, and precisely when, it will show up is always part of the fun, I think.
The key, I’ve found, to experiencing your made-to-measure moments is to do your part in placing the order. You don’t do this by making a list of what you want in your journal, saying a prayer, and then waiting for it to materialize out of thin air. Instead, you focus on what you’re seeking, dream bigger for yourself, and then take fresh action towards it. This requires remaining open to new opportunities, keeping your eyes peeled for the threads you can follow, the courageous avenues of growth you can take, and the synchronicities that are presented when you least expect it.
Traveling upon the extraordinary, the unexpected, saying “yes” to what you want and deserve, and "no” to what you don’t, this is how you place an order that includes precise measurements. By knowing yourself, how you live, what you want in your life, and demonstrating your interests and willingness to move towards what you’re dreaming for yourself. When you do this, the Universe will meet you where you are. It will compute your order and present you with situations you are seeking that are meant for you, perhaps even better than you expected, at the exact moment you need it.
It’s a dance, no doubt, since sometimes we receive things we don’t want or expect. Often these are tests designed to help you heal or grow into a better version of yourself. Moving through these is always a gift in its own way, and they usually help you fine tune your measurements for your life.
The outcome of all this effort is building a life you love that really feels like it’s made-to-measure. The fits-like-a-glove feeling is indescribable, but you know it when you feel it. It doesn’t come from vague wishes and sluggish actions; it comes from embracing your authenticity and being unapologetic about what you want for yourself. I walk my clients through these steps daily. It’s a steady process with calm guidance, learning to trust your inner knowing, and allowing yourself to shape the life you seek.
I guarantee, you can place your made-to-measure orders whenever you want and I’m more than happy to help you do so. I know the best tailor in town and their work is the stuff of magic, I promise. Trust yourself.
WORKSHOP
How to Embrace Rest: I know, I know, it seems a little ironic to rest when we’re talking about taking action. However, proper action can’t be taken when you’re burnt out and running on fumes. January is a good season of rest and I urge you to embrace it to the best of your ability. Life-changing moments happen even when you’re resting, I assure you!
☀️☀️☀️ How is everyone doing after the full moon last night? We are almost to the end of January! Next month I’m preparing to share a few dates of early spring workshops so stay tuned!
☀️☀️☀️☀️ I’m going to include some recommended reading and listening in my personal email next week. If you don’t subscribe you might want to consider it. If you’re still on the fence I’ll let you know that I really loved Adam Grant’s latest book and it’s on the list with a few other great ones. (Is that enough of a teaser? haha!)
