Today I want to talk a little about timing since it’s been on everyone’s minds lately. The past few months have been incredibly intense and very few of us have seen a lot of progress. However, I don’t want anyone to get discouraged by that. When it comes to shaping the life you envision one of the most important things is trusting in the timing of your life. This means that no matter where you are at the moment, you have faith that it’s all going to work out, you trust in the support of the unseen as you take action towards what you seek.
I always establish this concept with my clients at the outset of our work together, and reinforce it regularly with myself, too. Unwavering trust is important to internalize because change isn’t instant. When we’re dreaming bigger for ourselves and making new choices in our lives, we often expect the results we’re looking for to be immediate when they rarely are.
Instead, as we take fresh action we’re often faced with tests, redirects, life lessons, and more. The road to shaping the life we envision can be filled with all kinds of events ranging from the wildly discouraging to the hugely encouraging. And, no matter where they fall on that spectrum, they’re all meant to be.
Something I know to be true is that everything happens for a reason. This can be tough to stomach when life feels discouraging. Maintaining the notion we must “trust in the timing” is especially hard when you don’t have what you want or need in the moment. How do we trust that it’s all going to work out when we can’t see measurable progress in our lives? How do we have faith that it’s all going to be okay when we don’t feel supported on a regular basis? How do we conjure trust in DST (Divine Standard Time) when we’re not getting a lot of confirmation that it exists?
Time is man-made construct, the Universe works on its own system we can’t predict. It communicates with us through synchronicities and opportunities, signs and magical encounters. There’re limitless stories of divine intervention swooping people out of seemingly hopeless situations just in the nick of time, a “big break” happening right before someone is about to give up, solutions appearing that are even better than someone could’ve imagined when least expected.
I’m not saying we have to be at the bottom of the barrel before we can expect life to shift for the better. What I’m saying is that the Universe knows better than we do when it comes to timing the progress of our lives. Our job is to take fresh action and listen to our intuition while maintaining faith that it’s all going to work out.
Since I’m so used to this work, I’m able to help my clients pick out where they are on their journeys. I can never predict when the Universe is about the swoop in with a sprinkle of luck, but I can always help them understand the timing of their lives and pinpoint exactly where they are in their story. This is also when we navigate what needs to be worked on in order for them to move forward.
At a time when the whole world feels tense and fragile, please remember that you’re still in control of the narrative of your own life. We’re all on our own unique paths, we can all live the lives on our hearts when we decide to take action towards what we seek. The unseen will set up our timeliness and there will be signs along the way. Embrace them, learn from them, and keep going. It’s all there for you when you trust yourself.
My intention with this Substack is to share simple concepts, in an inviting and practical way, that will help you shape the life you envision.
You’re never stuck in your current story, even when you think you are. Your life can be meaningful and fulfilling; you’re meant to live happily and with ease. It’s my mission to empower you with this truth.
