How to Usher in More Ease in 2024
It's a thread that starts with self-awareness...
I’ve created this space for the guidance I teach in my group workshops and 1:1 client work. My intention is to share simple concepts, in an inviting and practical way, that will help you shape the life you envision. I also include exercises to show you how to apply it to your life right away, because the mechanics are very important.
You’re never stuck in your current story, even when you think you are. Your life can be meaningful and fulfilling; you’re meant to live happily and with ease. It’s my mission to empower you with this truth.
One of the very first things I do with clients is work on self-awareness. If there are unwelcome thought patterns, ongoing ineffective actions, or just a general need for a shift, we bring awareness to your current state of being. It’s not that you’re bad or doing something wrong necessarily, but to create shifts you must first understand where you are and how you’re acting in order to see what needs to be changed.
From awareness we move into accountability. Changing patterns and taking fresh action typically requires a system that helps you stay on track. Accountability structures look different for everyone, what’s most important is that they work well for you. When you’re held accountable for taking new steps to change your life you’ll usually choose new actions very deliberately. In other words, you’ll thoughtfully create new patterns that serve you much more meaningfully. It’s about making choices with intention that lead you in the direction you want to go.
Once you begin to take your fresh action with care you’ll begin to see the shifts you seek. These shifts will usher in much more ease and joy in your life. You’ll no longer be caught in routines and situations that don’t serve you and create friction. Instead you’ll be deliberately making choices in alignment with your values, ushering in ease, joy, and flow.
This process takes time and it’s a big part of the intensive work I do with clients. It requires patience and grace. We approach it all with a great deal of curiosity and compassion, and I encourage you to do so as well.
Trust yourself.
WORKSHOP
To give yourself a taste of this work at home, I recommend picking one or two things you’d like to work on in the interest of change. Proceed as follows in your journal:
What one or two things in your life would you like to change? What patterns would you like to break?
When you engage in these actions how do you feel? What do the actions look like? Can you bring awareness to what might be driving them?
Now, after reviewing this, can you write down what new actions you’d like take that are different from your current ones? What are the new patterns, actions, habits you’d like to develop?
Think about ways you can hold yourself accountable for new actions and set up a structure that works for you! It might be asking a person to help you, writing things down, or something else that you find manageable.
Work on deliberately choosing new action every day and holding yourself accountable. Then, welcome the newfound ease that ushers in as your habits change and new patterns establish themselves around you.
